Its hard to legitimately complain about Bush

Please point out a period after 1860 when the Republican Party was inconsequential.

Fuck no. Not even a little bit. If she could win I think she’d probably do a decent job, but I think her odds of winning are less than those if Al Franken would run.

I just put that because, well, the Right-Wing seems totally obsessed with the idea. If I didn’t know better I’d say that Hillary is the most senior (and certainly most powerful) Senator in the country.

If I had to guess, I’d assume that Rush & Co. have a whole bunch of killer jokes they’ve been working on for the last 15 years and they’re just dying to get some use out of them. Because I can’t think of any other reason they’d be constantly creaming their jeans on-air over it.

You forgot the smiley after that second paragraph. You were joking, right?

How was he pro-abortion, as opposed to pro-choice? What did he say to give you the impression he prefers women to have abortions, than not?

Nope.

Now, changing them is another matter. But nearly all Republicans accept that the government has a role in welfare and pension policy.

Gee, it’s too bad you never nominate any of them for public office.

Excuse me fushj00mang but may I ask a question? Could the alternate option to having an abortion be not having an abortion? Was Kerry going to make abortion compulsory?

Am I alone in thinking it is just a matter of time untill we find Katrina “had links with Al Quida”, that seems to be the favourite phrase whenever the shit hits the fan.

Yet evidently the Bush administration is *still * in bed with Robertson. Cite provided.

Don’t be silly.

The response will be two-fold.

First will be a lack of leadership by the local government officials. Surprisingly they’re pretty much all Democrats.

Second will be obstructionism by National Democrats whose meddling (somehow I’m sure they had great impact on the construction of DHS) and finger-pointing slowed down what would have otherwise been an incredible response.

Really, just listen to some Right-Wing radio. Any idea they float that their listeners lap up will typically be picked up by Washinton within a few days.

-Joe

It’s called sarcasm. Jeesh. Lighten up.

Sorry, I think that you have reversed cause and effect in the above.

Sorry. I seem to be having clarity issues in my typing lately.

Washington’s unofficial organs float the ideas their bosses tell them to. If said ideas are lapped up by the organs’ listeners then it’s safe for said Washingtoners to publically enact those ideas.

See, Bill Clinton ruled through focus groups, or so we’re told. That was bad, mmkay?

Our current president is far too divine to do such a thing. He just has his trained attack monkeys fling shit and then endorses whatever sticks.

-Joe

“Abortions for all!”
“Boooooooo!”
“Very well, no abortions for anyone!”
“Boooooooo!”
“Hmm… Abortions for some, miniature American flags for others.”
“Yaaaaaaaaay!”

Didn’t really no where else to put this…

SKY news unintentionally (?) makes a funny

Granted. However, why do we keep hearing whining from Democrats when they lose elections because their ideals are more and more out of sync with independentants and moderates?

I disagree. There’s this little thing which we’ve seen work well in the past (I’m thinking for a large portion of the Clinton era.) It’s called compromise. You move to the middle, conservatives move toward the middle, and we have things like a budget surplus, low unemployment, welfare reform, etc etc.

Why abandon them. Why not moderate them?

Don’t you ever, ever question my integrity again, you worthless cumstain.

I voted for the conservative who best espoused my views. I didn’t vote for a winner, as conservatives have been winning hand over fist for years. I’m trying to tell you, you being Democrats who may actually want to have a shot of getting irate conservatives like me to vote for a Democrat, how to do it.

Heh, isn’t it always the case that the guy who champions the liberal ideal (remember the root of ‘liberal’ is supposed to be ‘liberty’) is always the first person to say “shut up” when he hears something he doesn’t like. Beautiful, beautiful irony.

Revtim, Calm Kiwi: I apologize for not being clearer. It seemed to me that Kerry’s stance on abortion was more black and white then the gray that I like. You either get one or you don’t. There are no other options.

Hard to make that complaint when a 1.5% swing would have changed the election. Or have the revisionists changed that as well? We don’t need a land slide, we only need 1.5%. With that narrow margin, we could have won if Kerry had a better haircut.

Got any better answer for your obvious hypocrisy than that? “I knowingly vote for a loser who best espouses my ideals, but you’re an asshole for doing the same.” Show me some integrity, and I won’t question it, fuckstick.

And I’m telling you, I don’t want to bend over just to get a fucking vote from an irate conservative who can’t make the obvious best choice to begin with. Bush isn’t wrong because he’s Bush. He’s wrong because of his policies, beliefs and (if he has any) principles. If you can’t bring yourself to vote him out of office, well, it’s all our problems, but it ain’t my fault. Vote for Badnarik all the live long day, but don’t tell me it’s my fault for supporting a party close to my values.

I’m shocked that you can both put words into sentences and fail to comprehend that a party should stand for ideals. But then again, I think you’re either stupid or a bullshitting liar, so there you go. As Fear Itself pointed out, this party that is so horribly out of touch with mainstream values lost by 3%. Take your man date and suck it.

I’m not the one crying because my candidate lost, cockmunch. It’s not your fault for voting your vaules. It’s your fault for voting your ignorant, racist, irresponsable commie values, fronting lunatics, and then and then bitching that you’ve lost another election. But then again, I seem to forget that you’re a liberal Democrat, standing for what’s right! After all, “Segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever.” Right? RIGHT? Oh wait…the Democratic Party moved away from that, right? Towards the middle? Well, your prescious party didn’t falter then, so why the fuck don’t you take off your goddamned blinders look around you. There are NO HARDCORE DEMOCRATS that ANYBODY takes seriously anymore. Ted Kennedy? Hilliary Clinton? Howard “I Had A Scream” Dean? Jesse Jackson? Al Sharpton? Nancy Pelosi? Which of these chimps represents you? Which do you WANT to represent you? Christ, if you were any more dense I could cut steel with your face (although by the looks of it, I could do it with your picture.)

I thought that ‘man dates’ were a part of the DPUS’ platform? As far as you go, I think you’re stupid, ignorant, racist, sexist and ugly as sin to boot.

Or if he hadn’t been a stooge for the North Vietnamese back in the ‘70s. Or if he took the Catholic stance on abortion. Or if he didn’t pander so much. Or any of a million other things. What the exit polls from the election show, however, is that the margin was that narrow not because of the DPUS’ platform, but because of conservative backlash against Bush. Think about it this way. If Iraq had capitulated easily, stabalized within a few weeks, and Coalition forces were out in say, six months, do you think Kerry would have done as well? Or in the reverse. If a bomb had gone off in DC or New York the day before the election? Wouldn’t Kerry have done better? It’s not so much how many votes could have changed the outcome, but what would have moved the votes.

I’m not either. I’m simply pointing out that you’re a stupid cunt whose opinion about politics is worth precisely dick.

Yeah, according to you, the racists would or should have just continued to vote Democrat right along with them. So why did they start voting Republican? You simply can’t seem to wrap your brain cell around the idea that a person might follow individually held principles rather than adhere to a party.

Do you think the Indianapolis Colts are the same as the Baltimore Colts? Do you think there are a lot of big fans of Peyton Manning in Baltimore, because he’s a Colt? (You see, the Colts used to play in Baltimore for a long time, and were beloved by the local fans because they felt they represented them. However, they moved, in the middle of the night, to Indianapolis.) Moron. I wouldn’t have supported a party that endorsed or supported segregation to begin with. That’s an ideal I hold and I don’t abandon it just so that my party wins elections.

You express sentiments like this and yet you want me to work to change my party so it could earn your vote? No “compromise” is worth earning a vote from a piece of shit such as yourself.

Only someone who will fight for the principles I believe in.
