Well, seeing as “ignorant, racist, irresponsable commie values, fronting lunatics” seems to match well with what it is to be a Democrat now, yea. It’d make sense if you did.
So, which of the chimps represents you? After all, these are the modern face of the Democratic party. And by the by, what are the principles you believe in? Just so we’re clear.
I had planned to be flippant about winning the war on poverty by Katrina killing off the poor Black folks, but I must seriously comment on Sharpton.
He stated in the primary that he knew he wouldn’t win; he wanted children of color to see a Black guy running for President. He wanted them to know they could do something besides sell drugs or each other’s bodies.
That’s good enough for me.
When the Al Sharptons and Jesse Jacksons act, for lack of a better term, radical, we White folks must remember that we have screwed with them and screwed with them and screwed with them.
Check my location. I’m painfully aware that those were Dixiecrats. Their political ideas required a term to differentiate them from Democrats.
That was stated George Wallace who campaigned from a wheel chair with the slogan “Vote for George Wallace-You Know Where He Stands”. How seriously could one take this guy?
Lyndon B, Johnson, a true Democrat reamed Wallace a new asshole. “Yes George, I’ll endorse your bill, and we’ll have our picture taken on the schoolhose porch with a little Colored girl”.
Carnivorousplant, I didn’t mean to be offensive to you. I used the example of Govenor Wallace to show that sometimes sticking to your guns is exactly the wrong thing to do. Change is good.
Good god, why would you roll your eyes at that? You can’t expect everyone to agree with you; the best thing that could possibly happen is for people who don’t like someone else’s behavior to nonetheless support their right to do it.
Hey, you want to call 'em out? The hampsters are all for it. Just go to the front page of the Pit and click “Start new thread.” Just don’t be suprised if other’s jump all over your case anyway.
Maybe I’m overreacting, but the way that read was more than just disagreement. “I guess them women have the right to do what they want – but it don’t mean I like it!” The take-your-shoes-off-and-get-back-in-the-kitchen vibe was radiating off that post.
Fush, I know this is a pit thread and all, but I’m trying to understand your point of view. What are George Bush’s conservative values? Was it all about his position on abortion, or were there other issues? What were they?

The Korean War Memorial is, IMHO, one of the most moving memorials in or near the Mall. Fortunately, it’s no more than a 5-minute walk from both the Lincoln Memorial and the Vietnam Memorial. So if you’re ever on a tourist trip to DC, it won’t cost you much additional time or energy to see for yourself.
