Turning 40 did not bother me at all. Of course, I turned 40 – and 30, and 50 too – in Bangkok. The bars here have a very nice way of soothing any birthday blues. 
I dunno, Sam… all your tales of foreigners getting hung out to dry by bargirls have pretty much eliminated any possibility that I’ll ever go there…
