or a battle field or ground zero also fits - If I hear the term ‘crime’ refering to what happened one more time I will take this fucken radio and put my foot through it.
Fokes in the media - we are at war - Bin Laden has declared war on us and attacked us on our soil using our equipment.
I understand your point, but I think it’s largely invalid.
It certainly is a crime scene. It’s a place where 5000 people were murdered.
No one is denying, per se, that it is the opening battlefield for a war. However, I think that it is fundamentally constructive to treat it with the antiseptic security of a crime scene. Draw every bit of evidence that may lead us to these bastards from the rubble.
Well according to MSNBC last night, they were reporting that White House officials were stating that there was “overwhelming” evidence that the attacks were directly linked to Osama Bin Laden
Zaphod Beeblebrox time to wake up - he has been interviewed many times (way before this) by our own media basically stating he is at war with us. Also the latest I have heard is that it looks almost certain he is responsible.
k2dave, I think it’s both a war zone and a crime scene. Deliberately targeting non-combatant civilians… attacking without declaration or warning… using infiltrators disguised as civilians… I’m pretty sure all that qualifies this outrage as a war crime.
However, it makes sense to treat the scene as a crime scene for the moment. After all, the hostile forces involved are all dead and gone to their reward (I can sort of picture them in the afterlife: “Allah! Good to see you! Hey, when did you get the pitchfork, horns, and cloven hoof? And isn’t it kinda hot in here?”); the important thing, right now, is to comb the area for survivors and evidence, in that order of priority.
