Happy to hear this, I was just wondering what was up with Tyler, hadn’t seen an update for a bit and hadn’t gotten around to searching
I was just thinking about him too. Glad to hear the news is good.

It’s good to hear he’s doing better and getting stronger. It sounds like you and your family are doing better too. I hope things go well enough that he comes home on the 21st. Thanks for the update.
happy dance

That is good to hear! Sending wishes for more continued good news!
And he’s home! After almost three months, Tyler got back to the house at around 10:40 this morning. It was a little earlier than I thought or I would have tried to prepare a surprise. There was much rejoicing (yay) and some video gaming. Tonight is T-Fest - my analogue to B-Fest. It’ll be the family and a few friends, starting at 6 tonight and continuing until we can’t take it anymore. I’ve got way more movies than I need, so I haven’t scheduled the whole thing - but I know we’re starting with the original Little Shop of Horrors, then the classic Plan 9 from Outer Space, then probably Hudson Hawk, Reefer Madness, Invasion USA…
That’s fantastic news, Marley!

Fantastic news! I’m so happy for Tyler Marley! Not only is he doin’ better, he’s got a great brother and a great family to back him up.
I’m just jealous I won’t be there for T-Fest cause it sounds like it’ll be a whole lot of fun.
**Marley23 ** - great news about your bro - very very cool that he is on the road to healing. Her’s wishing him and you and your family continued strength and good health.
Now - how did you get backstage at the Allman Brothers? Was that part of a fundraiser associated with Tyler’s condition or do you have another connection? No need to be specific, just curious. It’s pretty funny: just before coming to this thread I was on a guitar board where some guys were deep into a discusion about the new Warren Haynes Signature Les Paul…
Great news!!!

So glad to hear good news of progress, and here’s wishing for success in facing what the process brings in the future. Your family is just tops.
Awesome news!
I do have some connections (through friends and through a magazine I freelance for), and I’ve been backstage before. I didn’t actually go backstage here, though. We got word to their tour manager and just gave the bass to him, and he brought it backstage for the band to sign. Derek, Susan and Oteil actually came to the Jam and signed it there.
Marley, I’m so glad to read that your brother is home and on his way to full recovery.
I’ll continue to keep you all in my thoughts.
Yay, yay! for Tyler! I hope the rest of his recovery is uneventful and he just gets better and better. He’s a great kid with a great brother (or two
)
Cool! Best wishes, as always
Huzzah! Great news, and a great way to start my week.
T-Fest, while not even approaching 24 hours, was a big success. That’s Tyler’s estimation and that’s the one that counts. I had my girlfriend and two other close friends come over, and we watched Little Shop of Horrors, Plan 9 and Reefer Madness (with Michael J. Nelson’s commentary). Plan 9 was especially fun. I got it because it’s shown at B-Fest every year and it was new to my audience. I took them through the festival traditions and we threw paper plates at the TV screen when the flying saucers showed up. There are a lot of in-jokes, so when they screen Plan 9 at B-Fest, there is near-constant yelling and you don’t hear a word of dialogue other than the opening and closing monologues, and one or two famous lines. My friends were pretty good about shouting “Night!” “Day!” “Not Bela!” and so on, but there were some long silences. It reminded me that not only is Plan 9 comically inept, it’s also quite dull despite being only 80 minutes long.
