I’ve been pretty easy-going about the French and their anti-war (or more particularly, anti-U.S.) position. I understand the war is not popular with lots of countries for lots of reasons, but this is just unacceptable:
(from the A.P.)
**BORDEAUX, France — Vandals in southwest Bordeaux torched a replica of the Statue of Liberty and cracked the pedestal of a plaque honoring victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.
The crowned head of the 8-foot-tall statue was blackened by fire and its eyes were marked with red paint, apparently to symbolize tears of blood, an official at the mayor’s office said.
The statue and the Sept. 11 plaque are beside each other in a square near the city center.

FUCKERS - Regardless of how you feel about the war, that’s just over the line. - FUCK 'EM ALL. NO, FUCK 'EM ALL AND SEND 'EM TO HELL.
What I’d like to know is how those 59,765,983 French people managed to simultaneously vandalise that plaque.
What? It wasn’t all French people? Well, colour me surprised.
Dirk, I understand your anger. It’s a pretty damn sick thing to do by anyone’s standards, regardless of nationality. But try to remember that the overwhelming majority of French people would be as repulsed as you are by this. It’s not a French thing, it’s a thoughtless idiot thing.
I read the entire article before posting, but when posting all I saw was red.
I stand corrected and here is my corrected rant:
FUCKERS - Regardless of how you feel about the war, that’s just over the line. - FUCK ’ THE FUCKTARD WASTES OF CARBON AND HUMAN GENOME WHO PERPETRATED THIS ACT. NO, FUCK 'EM AND SEND 'EM TO HELL.
