Canola oil anyone?
Just read this in today’s NY Times:
“The small plane that crashed in Manhattan last week, killing the Yankee pitcher Cory Lidle and a flight instructor, was equipped with a parachute designed to lower the plane and its occupants safely to the ground in an emergency…. Cirrus Aviation, the maker of Lidle’s plane … includes the system on all its models…. Alan Klapmeier, a Cirrus founder, was involved in a midair collision in 1985 in which the pilot of the other plane was killed. The experience caused him to investigate systems that would make it easier to land a damaged or out-of-control plane…”
Really? What’s that about?
