First snow of the season. White painted castles and cathedrals overlooking dusted trees and slipping tourists.
Time to start moving activities into the many pubs for Svar^ak wine (mulled wine with cloves, cinnamon and vanilla), grog and Algerian coffee.
Hearty gulash and svickova dishes to keep the engines burning warm, and the occasional nip from the flask of slivovice (plum brandy) to un-tingle the toes.
Even though we had a shit summer here, I am glad that winter is now back. I hope its a freezer!
Well, light snow actually, but Munich’s close to my hometown of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, and so I hope we’ll have snow there next month for the Christmas Markets!!!
Be very careful which brand you pick as it ranges from paint thinner to absolute bliss. I’ve not found R Jelenik (IMO the best commercially available) in the US and have to make due with Hungarian and Albanian versions that will literally eat the finish off of lineolium.
I am not premature in my ejaculations* concerning the weather! We are a bit higher here in Prague 6…lots of snow all around. And today it is sunny and cold. Yea!
Chairman, yeah, Jelinek is the best commercially available. The other stuff “Contains ethanol and flavouring.” (from the label). The home-made stuff is the best though…god it is good! The absolute best I had was a wild-berry and plums brandy…Mmmmm. Better get yee to Prague for the real thing!
Believe me, as soon as a) I have a job that gives vacation time and b) we can convince the girlfriend’s boss to let her take more than five days in a row off, we’ve got a grand trip through stare dobre Ceska Republika planned. Hopefully, I’ll learn to place the extra characters by then (and figuring out how to decline those damn things would help as well).
