Not really, but most of the Discourse boards I’m familiar with are locked down pretty tight, so the Google spiders can’t read much of them. The Dope shouldn’t need that level of privacy, so maybe they can just let all the spiders in.
I cant wait for dark mode. No more burning eyes reading late at night.
The thing is, Cecil isn’t putting out a new column each week, so nobody’s really looking for that. People would only go to the site now if they happen to be looking for some old column of Cecil’s, or they came across a link or a reference or something.
ETA: I, for example, found out about this board because I had been a regular follower of Cecil’s column in the dead-tree papers, since before Internet days, and from there I found his on-line column, and from there I found this board.
I’m already here but I’ve tried searching for old columns (particularly when they seemed relevant to new threads) and had very little luck finding the right ones. The column database seems to be screwed up.
We can move forward with the rest of the world, or die in obstinate obscurity. Maybe links to video, though, for the sake of bandwidth.

Doesn’t your operating system have a nightlight feature? Where it cuts down on the blue in the screen between some time in the evening and some time in the early morning? Excess blue apparently keeps you awake at night, so this feature should help you fall asleep easier.
I use flux but what I was referring to is a black background with white letters. Tapatalk has it but thats only on my phone. Reddit has it too.

Which, to get us familiar with their terminology, they call the “hamburger menu”.
Is that a common term in modern netology? It’s the first I’ve ever seen it. The actual icon (three horizontal lines) is quite common, but this is the first I’ve seen it called “hamburger”.
I was unaware too. Cool to learn some new lingo. 
It’s fairly common, both because it looks kinda like a hamburger and because it’s used for options, which like a hamburger, lets you “have it your way.”
But Discourse people tend to use it without explanation, since that’s what they’re used to, leaving others in the conversation to say Huh?
