And that means we don’t know that rape is what McQueary saw, and in looking at evidence and probabilities (height differences and the impact of gravity and musculoskeletal constraints; no evidence of lube, which one would expect if anally raping a boy in semi-public place where cries of pain or distress might bring attention; the lack of testimony as to Sandusky squatting or distress on the boy’s face; and the unlikelihood of the shower itself as a destination of choice for committing one of the most despised and heavily punished of all crimes all speak to me of the improbability that what McQueary saw Was anal rape.

First, please cite where the head of the state police publicly blamed Paterno.
Second, show any evidence that anybody wanted to blame Paterno “all along”.
Third show any evidence that there was a lynch mob trying to bring down Paterno.
Frankly, I had never heard of the guy before. All along I have said that he fulfilled all of his legal obligations. However, his actions violate my moral code and apparently the moral code of the University Administration. Now you can argue taht your moral code is different but that is irrelevant. Paterno failed to follow up on Sandusky being alone and naked with a child in a deserted shower. I will even stipulate for the sake of avoiding irrelevant argument that no rape occurred. In fact, I will stipulate that the child slipped and Paterno caught him in what only appeared to be a suspicious circumstance. Even given all of the above, Paterno failed in his moral duty to ensure that the situation was investigated.
That’s right, even if no crime was committed, Paterno failed to ensure that it was adequately investigated. Was it his legal duty?-no. Was it his moral duty? The majority of people here say yes, and the University Administration said yes. Your moral code may differ but that is irrelevant. I suggest that if you wish others to agree with your moral code you start to make more convincing arguments rather than fixating on irrelevant details on what specifically took place.
