It's time to officially Pit Joe Paterno and the Penn State football program.

I’m going to be charitable and assume you’re being intentionally ironic to be funny. The only other alternative would seem to be that you’re an imbecile.

He thinks he’s making a point that if we see these scenarios as absurd, then he can say “Gotcha! Then it’s also absurd that Paterno ever had a clue as to what Sandusky was up to. Ergo ipso facto Joe’s innocent! Just like I told you back in the paper towel tube thread!”

Unfortunately, yes. :frowning:
“Badger Bob” Johnson, legendary NHL coach was diagnosed with brain cancer in August of 1991 and died three months later in November.

This is the paper towel tube thread. Or did I miss something?

Whoosh muss up your hair?

Oh, yeahhhh… it’s been so long… with a lovely hiatus unencumbered by any thoughts of The Showers of Happy Valley.

Then this started up again and felt like a whole new thread.

Were Paterno and Art Briles ever seen together?

Why all the hostility? Important issues are being raised here. You’ve got another theory, by all means whip it out. Unless …

Perhaps you yourself are Joe Paterno, alarmed at being outed and the prospect that your hair dye and false mustache will no longer suffice to keep the feds off your case. (Or perhaps even Sandusky.)

One thing that seems certain is that the mysterious “death” of Joe Paterno will rival that of Lady Di - perhaps even Vince Foster - in intrigue and speculation.

Has anyone ever seen an original copy of Paterno’s long-form death certificate? Hmm …

Paterno to be honored 9-17 at the 50th anniversary of his hiring at Penn St.

I hear he won’t be attending.

However, a man named Mr Onretap has suspiciously booked a tickets/hotel room package…

I like the way Onretap thinks!

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for getting that reference.

Former Penn State president Graham Spanier sentenced to jail for child endangerment in Jerry Sandusky abuse case.

I just saw that story and came here too late to break the news, good as it is.

The whole mess is just tragic, those poor kids. What makes me really crazy, is not just what did Joe know and how could he live with that knowledge, but the fact that so many from Penn State, or Happy Valley whatever the hell they call it, think the man is a freaking Saint.

The wheels of American justice grind slowly, but oh how they grind.

Two months in jail? Not what I’d call a harsh sentence.

And they’ll get 1/3 off for good behavior, so 40 days in jail.

I bet a lot of the victims have spent more time than that seeing counselors or psychologists than that.

This belongs here.
