Good to hear you’re okay. I was in one myself back in October, and the experience is very nerve-wracking.
I’m sorry to hear about your accident, cj, but glad to hear you are okay except for the neck. Do get it looked at, just to be safe.
Hugs, and hope you are feeling better.
And good luck on your job interview tomorrow!
Ice and acetaminophen are best to start with, while waiting to see a doc. Heat too soon can make the swelling and inflammation worse.

Listen to your cyber-doctor.
I’ve been in one minor and one fairly major accident, and my neck hurt a lot both times. Don’t be surprised if it hurts more tomorrow than it did today. My doctor had me take ibuprofen and alternate ice and heat after the first day. The ice can feel terrible when you’ve actually got it against your neck, but it really does make you feel better in the long run.
Call your doctor and explain the situation. If you can’t afford to pay for the visit right now, he might be willing to wait for payment or even to bill the insurance company directly (although that would be a crapshoot). If the insurance company gives you any grief, don’t be afraid to hire a lawyer - sometimes that’s the only way they’ll take you seriously.
Good luck!
So then it would be a bad idea for me to run naked through this thread and make you turn your neck (OW!) to see me go past you?
KIDDING! HEY! Stop throwing those tire irons—

Well, despite the concerns of a certain rogue on this board, I didn’t wake up paralyzed. Of course, that may be because I didn’t sleep much. So, I’m going to turn down a much needed temp assignment and get myself to a chiropracter. I don’t have a regular doctor. I’ll also talk to unemployment and try to get them to understand why I’m turning down much needed and wanted work.
Thanks for all the good thoughts, folks. I really do appreciate it.
CJ
sorry cj .
hope you get some good sleep tonight, and that the pain eases off.
you know we’re thinking and praying 'cause we all care about you loads.
Ouch. lots of big hugs
Yes. Get thee to a chiropractor, and I’ll be sending you a stream of healing energy. I read your email this morning so I rushed to the boards, and I’m glad you’re at least semi-ok. I really hope you feel better.

I was car #1 in a 3 car rear-ender chain reaction Monday night. For me, it was a bump from behind and a few scratches on the bumper. Car #2’s back end was messed up, as well as #3’s front end. No one was hurt, but I’d love for the chance to beat the hell out of the blonde bimbette who caused it all, as is still clueless about what she did.
Take care of yourself, kiddo. Glad you’re mostly OK.
Oh, CJ!! I’m glad you’re mostly OK. Do get the neck looked at by a good, competent MD, in addition to any chiropractic you want. I’m so sorry I didn’t see this thread until today!

It’s all right, Polycarp. I’ve got an appointment with a certain hack’s former chiropractor tomorrow at noon; I’ve met her, I know how much good she did my friends, and I’m sure she’ll do a good job for me. Besides, she’s only about 3 miles away. I’ve also got two icepacks waiting for me in the freezer.
I’m also happy to report that both insurance companies are straightening things out nicely, so there should be minimal hassle. I also spoke to the other woman involved tonight, and we’re both being not only reasonable, but pleasant about the whole thing. I think I quite like her, considering the way we met.
I must admit, however, that the whole business really has been a pain in the neck! And now, if you’ll excuse me, the #** icepack awaits!
