I've been noted. That's fine.

But I take umbrage at what I was noted for.

Two games with lofty goals and I’m honestly mystified at the dichotomy between trashing one that has been released for $60 while defending one that has been languishing in development hell for five years, cost some backers several thousand dollars, and has been the subject of legal action by at least one backer. So I asked a question, civilly, regarding both games.

If Beef is unable respond in a civilized manner, that’s his problem, not mine.

As I said in that post, your second part of that post (“A $60 pre-order gets you all het up but this doesn’t?”) was referring to your and his sniping in this thread, which eventually got two notes and THIS warning.

So picking the same fight with him in that thread was what I was saying you shouldn’t be doing. I didn’t want the same fight that hijacked that first thread happening in that current one, thus…the note. Your reference to him “getting het up” over a sixty dollar pre-order had nothing to do with the topic of that thread. It was just trying to poke him about the previous fight that you both were warned over.

Well, since the thread got made:

I don’t think the tone was particularly outrageous, but okay. Civility and all that, wot.

The larger part of the note is that **Skywatcher **was unfairly carrying over an argument from the other thread. But SenorBeef has often railed against pre-orders as a huge problem in the modern gaming industry, and has done so in more than one other thread.

Skywatcher’s comment was germane to the conversation, imo.

Should’ve had “disparity” rather than “dichotomy” in the OP. Started this thread when I should have been asleep* so I’m happy to have made sense. I don’t have a problem with the note itself but surely there’s a better reason for it.
*Bodily functions were keeping me awake, nothing to do with the board.

The two of you sniped at each other in another thread enough for warnings to be handed out. You brought up the same issue into another thread. Sometimes it’s necessary to head off a problem before it hijacks a thread.

To me as someone looking in the post was about your personal problem with another poster not with the thread topic. We have a forum for that and it’s not The Game Room.

I was unaware that people fight over games.

Ignorance fought.

Yes, they do. Oh my, they do.

It’s an application of Sayre’s Law: “In any dispute the intensity of feeling is inversely proportional to the value of the issues at stake.”

Given that I was trying to understand where Beef is coming from and not trying to drag in bickering from a different thread, I think this note would have been a better fit:

Accompanied by instructions to not respond if being civil is impossible.
