when the moderator say’s spacifically “i don’t know what this is, so i’m closing it” that is purely opinion based, and it is not gibberish it is not my fault that others don’t understand that doesn’t give anyone the right to simply silence the entire topic as a single individual, just because. Thats an abuse of power, and i do not agree with it. Of course it doesn’t help that it was mostly other posters defecating on my thread, i simply raised a few points and they were struck down, this seems to be somewhat of a viral infection, or perhapes bacterial and i’m the virus

For the serious answer, you don’t have a right to free speech on someone else’s private message board. You are, however, totally free to create your own message board or find one that will appreciate your niche viewpoints and unique inflection.

There was a thread (in IMHO maybe?) some weeks back, in which various posters suggested other message board sites that feature good intelligent well-moderated general discussions, more-or-less like SDMB. (I was a bit surprised the mods allowed that, as on the face of it, it directed people to other message boards. But they did.)

Can somebody post a link to that thread? (I don’t know what might be good search terms.) For reasons unrelated to this particular thread, I’m getting ready to start looking for other on-line places to spend some of my time.

Try swapping out your von Daniken for Carl Sagan or something. It’s clear that you’ve got a thirst for knowledge. I think you’ll find that if you start with something a little more…empirically minded, you’ll find it both more fulfilling and more conducive to quality discussions.

Back in school when they were teaching you spelling, sentence structure, punctuation, capitalization, etc. those weren’t just academic exercises to be used only in school. They were teaching you valuable skills for communication. Writing like this:

only seems clear to you because you know what you were trying to say. However, it is riddled with spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and phrasing errors. It really does come across as gibberish. If you honestly want to engage in discussion with others, start by slowing down and writing in clear, complete sentences. Use the preview button and carefully read your post before submitting. There’s no prize for posting as rapidly as possible. There is also no penalty for taking more time.

how can i provide creditble evidence on things that are not proven that like asking the egg to hatch without the chicken to roost. i was bringing topics to the table that don’t nessecarily have any evidence that was my point, and to debate those topics, so either there is only closed minded folks in that thread, they aren’t as much an intellectual as i, or nobody wanted to truly debate something controversial, i would like to think it’s the latter

You put in a link to a hodge-podge of images on Google, then a bunch of one line sentences to various random stuff…some of which didn’t seem to go together even from the woo oriented. What does Roswell have to do with ‘Kennedy Assassination and alternate timeline hypotheses’? The whole list is a dogs breakfast of various UFO horseshit, only vaguely coherent and seemingly at random…some of which I had to Google just to figure out what the hell it was (such as ‘Armstrong’s Mars Macro-rail “Slip”’…wtf?).

Since you obviously aren’t getting why this doesn’t constitute a discussion, I’d suggest reading how other people start a thread and trying to put it in the context of whatever woo it is you want to discuss. And realize that this is not a woo oriented message board, but one that’s got a more scientific and skeptical bent. You can discuss woo here…there are many long time posters that do…but you are going to have to present some sort of coherent argument, not a bunch of one liners and a Google images link. And even then, if you do that, you are going to be fighting uphill, since most of the posters on this board don’t believe in woo, UFOs or supernatural explanations…or, at least, don’t believe that there is a freaking base on Mars, especially when there is a much simpler and more logical explanation.
