The other day, someone started a thread: "Have You Ever Seen The Sky?’
Yeah, at first glance it seemed kind of stupid. Just some dumbass tag-on to those other threads, “Have You Seen The Ocean?”, etc.
But, as I considered it, it seemed like a valid thread. Have I ever seen the sky? Of course. But maybe not the sky I would like to see.
That is, a clear night sky in an un-light-polluted area.
Just that morning, I was looking over telescopes.com website, wondering if I should shell out $1,500 for a cool reflector scope with GPS and a 40,000 object database.
The thread could have been an opening for a valuable discussion, but frank locked it out. Because he, among others, wants to turn this once vital message board into one big MMP, where everyone just strokes each others ego, no dissention, no strife. Just one big pallid kaffeeklatch.
This is the forum for criticizing mods?
