I’ve been suffering from old-toy nostalgia this season, as evidenced by my Dark Tower thread. This is another old toy, from about that same era.
If I recall correctly, it was made by Tomy, although I could be wrong. It was kinda like a six-wheeled pickup truck with a keypad you could use to program its movements before you sent it away. I don’t recall it being remote controlled, just programmable. As I said before, it had six wheels, a front cab, and a bed in which you could put stuff.
It could be that I’m making this up, but it’s such a vivid memory for some reason, probably because I thought that stuff was cool when I was 5 (I still do, actually). I also seem to recall having seen it in a movie wich reinforced the memory of it and I asked the very same question then, but nobody even saw what I was talking about so it was a waste of time.
Any guesses, ideas, comments? Even if it’s just to tell me I’m hallucinating, pop in and help me out. Thanks.
By any chance, did it go zzzip when it moved, Bang! when it stopped, and whirrrr when it ran down? If so, I don’t know just what it was, and I guess I never will …
