I go to Trans Pride every year there’s not a pandemic on.
You are probably not representative of the typical ally whose allyship is mostly Internet-based.
Here you go. First trans pride march was held in London last year:
It’s not the phrasing that’s the problem, it’s the fact they want to take away women’s rights.
That’s another one straight people love to use to justify opposing queer rights.
I expect Gov Newsome does not see female-on-female (or female-on-male, for that matter) sexual assault as ‘true rape’ either. This is interesting, though:
Among heterosexual males, an estimated 3.5% reported being sexually victimized by another inmate. In comparison, among males who were bisexual, 34% reported being sexually victimized by another inmate. Among males who were homosexual or gay, 39% reported being victimized by another inmate.
That’s awfully high. Why don’t gay and bisexual men also get a law to protect them?
Example?
Try again.
It’s “Newsom.” If you’re going to slander someone, at least get his name right.
He doesn’t care about people like me, why the heck should I care what his name is?
Not even people like me, women who are way more unfortunate and vulnerable than me. But they aren’t important enough to care about.
This is not the sick burn you want it to be.
Do you even know who he is?
What other queer movement has forced an existing group–one that has struggled for thousands of years for basic human rights and is still fighting for those rights–to turn what it means to be a member of that group on its head for the sole purpose of making a tiny minority feel better about itself?
The movement for gay rights were about making gay folks safe from discrimination and violence and making it possible for them to marry and raise families the same as anyone else. Gay rights did not require anyone to share anything. No one pushed for the lexicon to be completely altered to suit gay folks concerns.
Transwomen are demanding that ciswomen give up the words “woman” and “female”. There has never been a successful social movement with this kind of chutzpah. It is strange that so many trans allies are surprised that there would be pushback on this. I understand why y’all want to flex and act like only hateful people would be bothered by this, but it seems like a rather common sensical thing to be bothered by. No one wants to give up their names.
To wit, you are up here flexing on @DemonTree for mispelling “Newsome”. Well, I don’t want someone telling me that “female” means “people who identify as female”, when my whole life it is been used to identify people who possess my biological reality. Names are important. People who take it upon themselves to fuck up people’s names should expect a lot of resistance and anger.
Women cancelled this week:
Are you serious?!
Can you give me some examples of the gay agenda being reflected in contemporary, everyday speech? Instead of saying “Are you serious?!”, help me see the world through your eyes. Cuz obviously we aren’t seeing the same thing.
That’s not what the homophobes said. They argued… well, they argued exactly what you all are arguing in here. That we were stealing the concept of marriage from them. That they’d have to share bathrooms and changing rooms with us, and that represented a direct sexual threat. And, of course, there’s so few of us, so why are we going to all this bother?
No, they aren’t. Nobody anywhere is telling you, or YWTF, or DemonTree that you can’t call yourself women, or females.
You know, if you want to convince people that your concerns here aren’t primarily driven by hate, maybe talk to your sister about her defense of the “Transphobe” t-shirt? Because she’s over there arguing that “gender critical” and “transphobe” are basically the same thing, and that’s not doing wonders for the optics of your side.
You can still call yourself gay, but we’ve redefined the word to include straight people. It’s now bigoted to campaign for gay marriage, please use ‘marriage for people with penises’ in future.
