I’ve had the Jack Daniel’s glazed ribs and steaks at Friday’s and they’re not too bad.
I’d like to duplicate their recipe at home and searched Google for any hits with little success. Food Network gave me a Paula Deen Bourbon Glazed Grilled Fruit recipe that made a bourbon glaze that’s made with bourbon, brown sugar, butter, water, and lemon juice. I added a pinch of cayenne pepper for a little heat. It’s not bad, but the color’s not as deep as I’d hoped and the bourbon flavor’s not as strong. I even used 4 oz. of bourbon instead of the 2 oz. called for. I also had to use Early Times rather than Jack Daniels but I don’t think that’s the issue. After the glaze is cooled and refrigerated, the butter’s on top and solid as a rock. This means that it must be heated and remixed. Not too big an issue I guess.
I’ve looked at mine and not found that product. We have the JD BBQ Sauce, but no glaze/marinade. I’m out side of St. Louis, MO. Where are you and what market?
Well, I did another Google search and found this JD Glaze So I don’t know why I didn’t find it earlier. I think I searched for Bourbon Glaze, not Jack Daniels Glaze. Maybe that’s it. :smack:
Most of the recipes are close to, if not the same, as the one I found after a better search, and your help of course. These don’t have any butter in them, so should not set up with a cap of hardened butter on top. not that there’s anything wrong with that of course.
