Jack Daniels Single Barrel Rye

Just an FYI for our resident drunks:

Shit’s amazing. We tried it straight. Delicious. I am currently sipping a Manhattan made with it. Still amazing.

Picked my bottle up at Bevmo, but it’s pretty well distributed. My gift to you all this holiday season! :stuck_out_tongue:

My last Manhattan rye was Pikesville, which is great in its own right. This is right up there with Pikesville and Crown Royal Northern Harvest.

Thanks, but I only drink beer and tequila.

And wine, with spaghetti. Well, and The Macallen.

And Bailey’s, c’mon. That’s a given. And of course, its analogs (Caroline’s, whatever). And Kahlua.

Vodka, once in a while and maybe some scotch, or “brown party liquor”. And any of that Honey stuff. And if anybody else is buying, hell, I don’t want to be rude.

^ Wow, you drink like a fish!

How else could I?

Glad to hear the single barrel is good. The regular Jack Daniel’s Rye is ok, I guess. It’s kind of bland, for lack of a better term. I guess that charcoal filtering removes some of the funk that’s necessary for a good rye whiskey, at least according to my palate.

I’ve been drinking my old fashioneds with rye lately and really want to try this one. We were at the Capital Grill the other night for drinks and appetizers but they didn’t have the JDSBR. A pity. Probably would have went well with their fantastic lamb chop lollipops.

Try 3 parts rye on the rocks with 1 part each Campari and a black Amaro. Garnish with orange peel.

I’m calling it Coal in my Stocking.
