I’m drinking a rose juice/elixir drink and was googling trying to find some info about it. I didn’t find much but I did read about a Jack Rose cocktail. It doesn’t have anything to do with roses but it still seemed kind of cool. From the wiki article, it seems like an endangered/extinct drink. Heck, only one company makes applejack, the main part of the drink.

So has anyone tried it out? It doesn’t seem like a very manly drink but it sounds like the flavor might be a bit interesting.

I’m not ready to spend the $20 for the bottle of applejack though.

Yeah, it’s basically a chick drink from the 1920s. It is quite tasty, though.

You do have to use homemade grenadine; the commercially-available stuff will give you lousy results.

Do not get the “standard” applejack, BTW–you need to use the bonded 100-proof “straight apple brandy”.
