Jackson, Mississippi library computers, no e-mail allowed.

I say that it is a stupid rule. It may be necessary because of lack of money, but it is still stupid. They dont even need antivirus software, they could just re-clone all the machines every night. It doesnt take more than 30 seconds per machine to start a ghost job and it can be left running and will be ready the next day.

Again, go pay for your e-mail system if you need access. I like the rule and the library shouldn’t have to bother taking even that extra 30 seconds of free time if they want to. Just don’t use their internet access to check your e-mail.

Nope, that about sums it up in my opinion. you’re dead on.

Bravo for you. I graduated more than a decade ago and I have used email for job searching. I’ve even hired people who sent me their resumes via email. In making those hiring decisions, I never interviewed anyone who didn’t send me their resume by email. Your point is irrelevant.
BTW, Mockingbird is petulant for reasons totally unconnected with his age.

My point is irrelevant because it doesn’t agree with your experience?

No, our experiences conflict. That doesn’t make either one of our points irrelevant. You have your experience and your point and you are welcome to them. I would appreciate if you would allow me the same courtesy.
