In ‘You Only Live Twice’, James Bond is launched from a submarine’s torpedo tube. Is this actually feasible? I mean in the sense that it would be survivable, of course. I would guess that the amount of compressed air delivered to launch a torpedo could be variable. If so, then it could have been reduced for a human body. Otherwise, I think it would be fatal to be ejected with the normal level of force.
This does not seem to be outside the realm of possibility. At one time, the japanese used a manned torpedo to sink allied ships. This can be googled easily.
What James Bond did ought to be possible, but not practical. There are simply better ways of delivering personell to shore. Even covertly.
I don’t believe the Japanese manned torpedoes were launched from a torpedo tube. They simply rode a torpedo-like submersible.
