January 2010 Weight Gain Thread

Anyone want to join me trying to put on a few damn pounds?

I weigh 99-100 lbs (31-23-33) currently. This time last year I was up to my all-time high of 105-106 (32-24-35) from counting calories and yoga. Got lazy and when I don’t make an effort to overeat and exercise, this is how much my body wants to weigh. Sorry, body! You look better with some meat on you!

This time I will be counting calories AND doing strength training (anusara yoga, exercises with my pull-up bar, push-ups, and exercises with the 15 and 25 lb barbells I have at home - can’t afford a gym membership right now).

I would like to maintain at 110-115. I can dream!

That is great! I weighed lbs in my W’s. I lived on salad and Tab! You must be a size 1. I was a size 5 back then.

I am 42-33-40. I would like to be 140 and now that the holidays are over I should get there. I have a gym membership but would like to try Kettle Bells. It is supposed to be more effective then weights and you only need to go twice a week for a half hour.

Yes we can!

Hey, don’t be a jerk. Plenty of people struggle with being too thin, and being underweight has more health risks than being overweight.

How do you go about overeating? When I was pregnant and nauseated and trying to stop losing weight and start to gain weight, what helped me was a milk shake in the evening fortified with almonds. I used butter pecan ice cream because it had the highest protein per serving that I could find.

Swimming is supposed to help stimulate appetite. I do know someone who found it helpful for gaining weight, mostly muscle.

Look, all you really need is a medical marijuana card, $60 for pot, an American Express for groceries, and someone to drive you to the store and back. You’ll gain weight in no time.

I think I recall you saying elsewhere that you eat mostly protein. My advice is to add some bread to your diet.
