Dopers you are my last resort on this problem my friend and I are having. I wasn’t sure if this should go in GQ so please move if necessary.
My friend and I fly into Tokyo on Sep 2nd and fly out of Seoul on Sep 16th 2009.
We are hoping to use the Beetle ferry to sail from Japan to Korea on Sep 10th. We are staying with my friend’s cousin in S. Korea before we fly onto Australia.
I have got as far as reserving our seats on the ferry but can not work out how to pay for the seats and thus confirm the reservations as the company do not accept English cards. I’m guessing the only way to pay for the seats is by bank transfer but there are no details on how to do this.
I have rung the company but as I don’t speak Japanese I did not get very far-she hung up on me! We have to reserve the seats before we go as on entry to Japan we have to show proof of leaving the country to be given visas.
Trailfinders said our other options would be to buy a refundable plane ticket from Japan to Korea and then buy a ferry ticket when we are out there. This isn’t possible as we definitely can not afford the plane ticket (there is a huge price difference).
Does anyone have any advice?!
