Jasper Morello -- an awesome, dark, steampunk-inspired cartoon

I think a lot of people here might get a real kick out of The Mysterious Geographic Explorations of Jasper Morello:

Set 26 minutes aside to watch it, and then check out the creator’s website at www.jaspermorello.com/ for more coolness. I was blown away by the animation style and dark, anachronistic tone.

I’m 4 minutes into it and it’s 100% pure awesome! Gotta get a copy of it!

Steampunk get’s a writeup in Nature magazine!

Wow!

This definitely goes in my bookmark list.

This one’s a mere 8 minutes and worth it just for the line “You cheese pirate!” (Watch the credits, BTW.)

Thanks for posting. I really liked the story and the detail of the animation.

I wish it wasn’t quite so dark, though, and I didn’t care for all the characters being silhouettes. Not saying that aspect was “bad” by any means - just not to my personal taste.

That was incredible, thanks for posting it. Is there any more?

That’s all that is mentioned on the website, but it sure was a good ride.

It was an nominated for an Academy Award.
