Jaws/USS Indianapolis

I remember the scene in Jaws when Quint describes his ordeal in
the water with his crewmates being eaten by sharks after the
Indianaplis was sunk.

I also vaguely remember a made for TV movie about the Indianapolis…with crewmembers being eaten.

Was one of the survivors identified as Quint, in homage to
Robert Shaw’s monologue?

I’m not entirely sure what you’re asking. I don’t know if it helps, but here is a crew list of the Indianapolis (CA-35), which also notes the survivors.

I’m pretty sure Enola isn’t asking if the fictional character of Quint was among the actual crew of the Indianapolis. I believe his (or her if such is the case) question is whether a character in the TV movie was named Quint as an homage to the Jaws character.

Enola, if you can remember the name of the movie, you could check the credits at IMDB.com

Ah. In that case, I’d say no - or at least, probably not. Assuming the movie Enola is thinking of is Mission of the Shark: The Saga of the U.S.S. Indianapolis, there do not appear to be any characters listed named Quint. However, there are a couple of actors listed who don’t have characters’ names attached. Maybe one of these was identified informally as ‘Quint’…?
