Wow. 220 miles per charge, fast, good looking…
Comments? It seems way to good to be true.

Fast. Good. Cheap.
Pick two.
I want one, even at $100,000.
It looks really cool and I love it. But even if it is true, the price is a bit high, according to wikipedia. I suppose volume might help, but how do you get volume at $100K a car? Perhaps the technology will scale down to cars us mere mortals can drive.
BWAHAHAHA!!! Sorry, but that’s just funny. Do not expect the technology to drop in price in any time soon. Cheap electric cars are, just like fusion, “right around the corner.” Every now and then, someone makes an announcement, everyone get’s all excited and then. . . nothing.
The Tesla’s a neat idea, but don’t expect them to come out with a model which compares in terms of price and performance with your average gasser for some time to come. Right now, nobody knows how reliable the cars are, and even the best testing won’t reveal everything until you get the cars out in the real world and let drivers bang them up a bit. Already the roadsters are behind schedule, and the ones which have been delivered are going to have to be recalled at some point, assuming the folks at Tesla can get the transmission issues worked out. Not exactly a promising start (and the cars are being delivered behind schedule).
Right now (and for the immediate future), the technology just doesn’t exist to do it in a practical manner at an affordable price. Carbon fibre (along with the batteries) are murderously expensive, and there’s a shortage of carbon fibre as demands from folks like Boeing are so high at the moment that every company is backordered and struggling to build up manufacturing capacity to meet the growing demand. Until those costs are brought down, I doubt that you’ll see anything like the Tesla at a price normal people can afford.
I’ll just take the ENV hydrogen motorcycle, thanks. Cars just have too many parts.
