Jazzy music with birdcalls?

While visiting Kentucky a couple of years ago, my SO visited an antique store in which the proprietor was playing some music that she’d like to get a hold of. It was “kind of jazzy, with kind of a lounge vibe to it. A lot of different instruments and no vocals, but with a lot of different sounds (like bird screeches) incorporated into the music.”

I’m stumped - anybody have any ideas what this might have been? Or recommendations for something similar?

Martin Denny?

(TMI, but I may well have been conceived to this music!)

Thanks for the suggestion. It’s got a similar sound, but that’s not quite it. It’s more of a start than we had before, though.

Boards of Canada, maybe? The final cut (“Happy Cycling”) on their album Music Has the Right to Children uses seagull screeches very effectively.

Yeah, I was going to suggest Martin Denny too. Or Les Baxter. This album has a lot of birdcalls in the music.
