Jesus Christ Superstar - a theory on Judas

So basically JCS is John Locke and Judas is Jack Shepard?

10 year old thread, and post by a poster who hasn’t posted in 4 years, but I want to address this point, and you can’t stop me. Nyaah.

While this is right in that Judas fears that his fellows will be slaughtered, he doesn’t want Jesus to fight, since he doesn’t feel that they can stand up to the Romans. (He’s certainly right, when it’s just Jesus followers, though Judas seems to feel it’d be true, even if the entire Jewish nation rose up at once.) He wants him to keep his head down.

The most key song is Heaven On Their Minds, where Judas says the following:

(And continues in that vein.)

Simon is the one who wants Jesus to fight. Judas, like the priests, quite justifiably feels that if they make too much noise, they’ll get unwanted attention from the Romans, and it’s Jesus letting the good works go to hell, while losing control of Simon’s faction that’s the most obvious reason for his going to the priests.

Also, I can’t resist…Sweet zombie Jesus!
