Jesus Loves Me....

Depending on what you believe from the texts, Jesus had ample options to save his own skin. He could have:

  • softened his teachings to be more Ceasar-friendly and less heretical.

  • Asked Judas not to betray him or asked the other Apostles to “convince” Judas not to betray him.

  • boogied out of the area before he was captured.

  • allowed his followers to fight for him when the Romans came to apprehend him.

  • denounced his claims to be the son of God.

I’m sure there were other options…

Well, if Jesus really was God (not that he was) then he could have just teleported to somewhere else. Or made the soldiers disappear, or…

As for the orginal question, the Bible does say that God loves everyone, and it’s commonly accepted that Jesus was God. Given those premises, the logical conclusion is the Jesus loves everyone.

How about these Poly?

“For G-d so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

And

“My dear friends we must love one another. Love comes from G-d, and when we love each other, it shows we have been given knew life. We are now G-d’s children, and we know him. G-d is love, and anyone who doesn’t love others has never known Him.” 1 John 4:7,8

Thes of course refer to the Christian G-d in general, not Jesus Christ. However, it was his claim that he was the Son of God, and he did say, “I and the Father are One.”

Therefore, JC, by combining these verses, is, in the Bible’s view, love, and he loves the entire world.

(The word G-d has been devoweled in respect to our Jewish friends, who, after all, had him first.)

–John
Son of a preacher man.

“devoweled”? I prefer the term “disenvoweled”.

John–“The only one who could ever move me…was the son of a preacher man…” Let’s all sing along!
