JFK Conspiracy Theorists (and Opponents) Take Note! New Data!

New footage of JFK assassination footage surfaces.

According to an interview with the director of the museum that I heard on the BBC the new film shows a few seconds of someone else filming the event, and whomever that person is, their film has never been seen by the public.

They were in on it. Duh.

I can’t fathom why that guy just sat on the footage all these years.

Anyway, it’s significant, because it shows that JFK’s jacket was bunched up a bit prior to the assassination, which explains the entry wound not matching up with the hole in the jacket thing.

I saw this one on Monday and couldn’t understand why this guy sat on the footage so long, either. Maybe he thought it didn’t really show much detail so it probably wouldn’t be of much use? Even then considering what a massive to-do it was at the time and how legendary the whole thing became since, it seems odd to sit on something like that without intending to cash in on it.

Of course, the conspiracy theorists will either become detractors of the short film decrying it as a fake if it disproves anything they’ve ranted on about, or use it to come up with some other wacky stories if it seems to work to their nutty notions.

Either way, other than revealing that there’s quite possibly another film that hasn’t seen the light of day (assuming it turned out and he didn’t end up filming his thumb or lens cap or some hot hippie chick), and showing Kennedy’s bunched jacket, it doesn’t appear to offer anything substantive that the Zapruder film didn’t already offer in more detail. But I details are pretty sketchy right now anyway, so I guess we’ll have to wait 'til they’ve analyzed it frame by frame before knowing if there’s anything more interesting to reveal – like maybe a brief shot of the book depository window.

It doesn’t show anything particularly pertinent to the assassination, for one thing. According to the article, the guy who filmed the clip had stopped filming in time to be far enough away before the shots were fired that he didn’t know anything untoward had happened until he heard about it from others. The shot of the Book Depository was taken the next day.

Nice video of Jackie Kennedy, though. She really was a beautiful woman.
