I was wrong – there will be a special election Aug 9, that person will serve until January.
Aug 9 is also the primary date for the November election

Also my district. MPR reported an August special election is planned. I’m betting his wife, a former GOP operative, will run and win as a sympathy candidate. I always thought she was the driving force in their marriage, playing kingmaker, but I forgot that Jim’s father Tom Hagedorn was a previous congressman.
He voted in favor of the January 6th coup.
