Joan of Arcadia 11/12, or When Bad Friends Spoil Good Dates

I was teasin’ – and only a little concerned that some of the young 'uns might be having one of those “No, really, Paul was in another band before Wings” moments.

Hate to pop in just for a me too, but I do agree with all of you. Probably the best episode yet.

Regarding the juggling on the bridge puzzle, no, juggling doesn’t help. I noticed in the episode, though, that God was careful to say that that was the age-old answer to the riddle, and so it is. Unlike a bridge, life has an element of gestalt. It can stand the bit of a jolt from the ball landing in the hand.

So I didn’t forget all my high school physics!

I don’t know whether to be happy or chagrined at that.

He was? I didn’t know that!!!

Now some of you may know that I’m a Trek fan, and when UPN moved Enterprise to Friday at 8 PM, I had to choose between it and JoA. Well … Joan won, although thankfully the UPN station in my neck of the woods at least re-airs the weekly episode of Enterprise on Saturday night at 8 PM, so I do get to tape it then. That’s how much I love Joan of Arcadia. The shows are usually well- balanced and always well-acted–this is definitely one of the best casts on TV, imho. I really like how there was a bit of lightness (the Luke/Grace/Friedman storyline) juxtaposed to the heavyness of Judith–it certainly saved me from totally floating away on my tears. I like too how the avatars re-appear from time to time rather than constantly changing. It was good to see the doctor, who was watching over Judith.

Next week’s episode looks to be a good one–and will provide some back story. Did anyone else catch a glimpse of Michael Welch (Luke), supposedly two years younger?! He really did look younger!

Uh, yeah. He showed up back in season one once or twice.

Well. I love Adam, a whole bunch. He’s super.

Who’s Lucy? Is she the woman who told Will they found “a girl [with] no ID, just a name tag and a sweater”?

Why do we hate her?

We watched the episode again, and for the record with respect to whether she said “snacks” or “X”, she said “snacks”. “We’re going to a party. We’re just picking up some snacks.”

Yeah, that’s her. She’s Will’s new boss, who may or may not be making a play for Will, which is why we hate her.

Plus she seems weird enough that some posters have made comparison’s to Dr. Amanda Lee (Mare Winingham) from ER a few seasons back – who turned out to be an imposter, a nutbar, and a stalker.

But she does say she was buying X when she is talking to Detective Girardi in the hospital room.

I don’t think she wanted Joan to know what she was doing. Joan would have bolted after her, and Judith, in her strange way, may not have wanted to ruin her date.

That’s exactly how I see it. On an unrelated note, I suspect that Judith knew who the doctor was.

Poor Friedman :frowning: It would be interesting showing him reciting Hamlet at Judith’s funeral.

I usually tape Trek, watch JoA and then watch Trek afterwards. This week i taped JoA and watched Trek (and then a DVD) and didn’t watch JoA till today.
Brian
of course bridges don’t instantly collapse at a certain weight.

That hussy!

Okay, thanks.
