Yeah, I understand what you’re saying – I’m just saying that I really dig how she remains a totally typical teenager. NO ONE can do solipsism like an adolescent!
I"m chiming in with a little, way better than the last month of episodes cry of relief.
I think it is at its best when it does return to the dominant theme of actions have consequences and you don’t always see them. That God doesn’t have to be in your life, in your face every minute for positive things to happen to you. You own your own fate by choice, not design. Free will and all that, you know?
Well, I hope it is a trend toward improving episode quality.
I’m concerned with Adam and the spooky chick, there is some definite vibe going on.
I was disappointed that Lily and Kevin seemed to hit it off perfectly the second go round. Given the damage both of them have suffered, I would think an easy meal would have been a lot harder than that – but I guess it doesn’t really have to be.
I sympathize with what RikWriter is saying, and I’ve said the same thing myself. The sheer level of cynicism does seem a bit out of place after all this time.
Have faith. Maybe she has grown in ways we aren’t aware of.
I don’t think she’s cynical at all, liberal – I just think she’s young and immature – a typical 17-year-old (or however old she’s supposed to be – they’re juniors this year? Wouldn’t they have applied for college already if they were seniors?). Yeah, she’s learning some stuff from all these experiences – but she’s also worried about, well, herself, primarily. It’s been a few years, but it seems like that was what adolesence was about for me and my friends – YMMV and all that.
It kind of felt like “Luke of Arcadia” when he was talking to that physicist.
