In my case, Broomstick, it’s finding help to pay for my 19-yr-old daughter’s epilepsy medicine, which is over a grand a month. We were turned down by the state today, but I will appeal and Carol Stream will complain.
Take care of yourself, Broomstick. Sending good thoughts your way. And if you need to come here and vent, don’t let you-know-who* stop you. Anyway, as deficient as she is in the compassion department, I really don’t think she’ll wish serious misfortune upon you.
Although I don’t doubt that she’d gloat privately if she learned about it.
*No, not Voldemort. Carol Stream.
Surprisingly this also has an effect on pilots from other countries. For example a Qantas pilot may be legally able to fly at age 65 in Australia but they can’t fly into the US (as it’s an FAA rule) aged over 60 so they essentially become useless on international ops and either have to retire or go to domestic ops (they may be able to go back to being a first officer on international ops, not sure.).
