John Cleese died?!?!? (False rumor)

He’s not quite dead yet.

Actually, he’s feeling better

I think you have your answer. John Cleese is a Geek hero. We are talking the most famous Pythoner, Basil Fawlty, “Q” and “Nearly Headless Nick”. Those alone make him immortal.

I hear Englebert Humperdink died today.

It’s true. I heard it in the car coming over.

No… he’s not really dead.

Yes he is.

No he’s not.

No. It’s true. A car wreck or something.

He’s not dead.

Yes he is.

No he’s not.

No wait. I think the radio said he had a tan. Yeah, that’s it.

</Izzard>

You sure it wasn’t them saying that CHAPMAN was dead?

He got better.

He’s just resting. He’s tired and shagged out after a long squawk.

The final gag of Cleese’s Personal Best episode, was Cleese’s character (‘John Cleese’, but not John Cleese, if you get me) dying.

When he does die I hope Eric Idle nails his feet to stage somwhere and sells tickets to the show.

But he’s feeling much better now.

Although in that show for Graham, I was shocked at how old John did in fact look. Maybe it was just the white, unshaven beard. One can hope.

"Mr. John Cleese has given us a poser. The news report said that he was dead, but people doubt that.

But, we can soon find out."

(explosion to right)
(Big explosition i the center, with a John Cleese scream)

Yes, he is dead. Now"

What Tengu and Lieu said – I think this was a misheard tie in with the show.

He riff on Chapman (badly paraphrased):

“A notorious shirtlifter you know… raging drunk and when he got tired of that got raging dead … just a way to get attention you know” had me rolling – like Monty Python the first time I think you’ll you have to hear it a few times to really get it down. Very funny

Mods:
Thanks for the title change… and my apologies for being a little too quick to post about this.
JustAnotherGeek:
Sorry about that. I just kind of got carried away there.

So far, I think Cleese has had the best of the PBS series. Palin and Jones still to go.

Anybody else out there think a few minutes of Gilliam’s cartoons go a long way. I was bored after 15 minutes.

Anyway, Cleese is certainly dead. And nearly headless. And petrified. Sad end for a very rude man.

Shock aside, it turned into an interesting thread at least.

wheeze!

Yep, turned it off after 15 minutes and went to bed. It’s Tivo’ed but I’ll probably just delete it or fast forward to see if there is any actual talk about the show.

No worries. (My repsonse was supposed to be so over the top it was funny. Apologies if my plan failed.)

Glad the mods changed the title, tho.
