John Entwhistle of the Who dead at 57.

I never got to see The Who, despite the fact that they’ve been one of my faves since I was 13…not for a lack of opportunity, but because I felt that they (along with the Stones) should have stopped touring and retired with dignity. I now regret that decision.

But I remember when my brother got to see them–he thought his ticket was for Row L; turned out to be Row 1…he said that Entwistle’s fingers were a blur that he couldn’t even see clearly.

The only consolation I have is that he passed in his sleep.
<sigh> Time to break out the Black Armband.

Last night, as we were driving home from the NY DopeDinner, Jeffy and I were listening to a Who marathon on the radio. We had no clue why they were playing so much Who. :frowning:

Let’s also remember John as a songwriter–My Wife, Had Enough, Boris the Spider…
