The vibe I got from the gathering was the Last Supper: everyone sitting around eating while John talks but nobody really gets what he’s saying. This would fit in with day 5 timing.

Mitch catches a good wave. Mitch wipes out. Mitch wipes out Cissy. Cissy shows Butchie how to do that. Cissy wipes Butchie out. Butchie hurts Barry’s head. Mr. Rollins comes in Barry’s face. My Father runs the Megamillions.
[John gets Cass’s camera from her room. Linc sees John’s reflection in the window and John says “it’s time to get back in the game.”]

In Cass’s camera, Ramon wants to know who’s hungry in the courtyard and room 45. In my father’s word to come, in Cass’s camera, Dr. Smith calls Ocean Properties. In Cass’s camera to come my father stares not Aliman down and Freddy sees Bill much improved (as they play their intruments together).
You will not note my fathers word nor remember Cass’s camera but you will not forget what we did here today.
I think the first sentence explains the mimicry. The “circle and the line” is writing/knowledge/science.
I have some Wags about various other things but I’m stck on “9/11/14” a little bit. I’ve been looking at Bible verses and found some things that kinda/sorta might fit but no Eurekas yet.
This is something David Milch once said in a New Yorker interview that might help shed a little light.
He was talking about Deadwood, but look at the above mentioned opening line from JFC’s sermon again:
“If my words are yours can you hear my father?”
Is John telling them that they ARE the father?
We know that John is a parrot, who communicates with people using only phrases he has picked up from others. I think that’s what he’s referring to here.
In other words, “If I can only communicate to you using phrases I have borrowed from you (if ‘my words are yours’), will you comprehend that it is God (‘my father’) speaking through me?”
And I assume 9/11/14 is the date of some future event. (The apocalypse? The rapture? Who knows?)
The Lord moves in mysterious ways. He communicates only obliquely. Will Kai be a conduit of some kind for His word?
A reference to the “handwriting on the wall” from the Biblical story of Belshazzar?
Oh, and the above is obviously borrowed phrasing from the Gettysburg Address:

Well, that makes it clear; John is the reincarnation of one of Lincoln’s sons.
I came here to post about that actually. A few minutes earlier the goon underling with the broken hand mentioned that he had the same birthday as honest Abe, 100 years after Lincoln died. What these recurring Lincoln references mean is anyones guess.
Thats actually my main issue with this show. No doubt its trying to make some sort of medaphorical statement, but what it is and how to decode it, who knows?
My other issue with this show, is how do you keep up dramatic tension when you’ve already established in week 5 that there are no rules and that anything and everything could conceiveably happen. No matter what you reveal, the viewer won’t be satisfied because it could all be thrown out next week.
Still, despite these faults, there is something about the sheer bizarreness of this show that keeps pulling me into it every week.
I wouldn’t necessarily look for any parallel biblical passages, but it’s pretty clear that JC is the 2nd coming, not the first. The very first words out of his mouth were: The end is near. Maybe something from the book of Revelations, but I don’t see why we’d have a 2nd Last Supper or anything like that.
Another thing is that while Jesus 1.0 ate, slept, and drank (His first miracle was turning water into wine, after all), resurrected Jesus apparently didn’t need to.
So maybe John is the Third Coming. 
I don’t know what’s going on but I’m really enjoying it.

Paula Malcomson? Didn’t she just put her shirt over the guy’s head to mess with him? Not sure how much her boobs were involved. Who was the guy, anyway? Are we going to see her again?
Don’t know if this is true, and if so if it was something we were supposed to figure out from this episode, or whether it’s yet to be revealed, but according to wikipedia,
Sometime after Cissy molested Butchie, she somehow became aware that Barry was being molested and shot his molester dead in room 24 as a sort of penance, thereby saving Barry from further molestation.
Jack, I don’t see how that spoiler could be true. Cissy didn’t remember Barry, and surely if she’d done what your spoiler said she did, she’d have a faint inkling who he was when he spoke to her.
Maybe, maybe not. Barry’s comment was oblique and Cissy was focused on something else when he said it.
Plus, people change in 20+ years. She might not have recognized him.
That’s what I get for turning on the subtitles. Once they’re on, if they’re just a little bit wrong, you believe them, because hey, there’s the word, written right there in black and white. Sheesh.
“Solicitude” makes WAY more sense.
