John Gomm plays guitar; beats final boss.

This is intense. Best acoustic performance I’ve ever seen, bar none, so I thought I’d share. I’ve bought the song and the tabs from his website (www.johngomm.com) and I’m going to learn how to play it if it kills me, which it may very well do  Hope you like it.

Fun. Good player - love the incorporation of using twists of the tuning machines in the main hook of the verses. Lotsa moving parts - an open tuning, tappy stuff, harmonics, over the neck playing, singing - jeez, he’s the Cat in the Hat with a fish on a hook, fercrissakes.

Kinda wish I had heard it without seeing it first. Too much stunt guitar going on.

But, damn, the man’s talented.

Sort of tangentially related question: I know they sell those tuners that have the stops in them so you can do precise tuning changes like this much more easily. How much toll do those take on your strings? I realize that for smaller changes like this, it’s probably similar to doing a whole step bend or so. But for bigger tuning changes, like 3 or 4 whole steps, does that drastically reduce the lifespan of your strings at all? I assume that pros or even people play much more frequently probably change strings often enough that it’s not an issue, but my big fear would be turning the tuner and having the string snap into my face.
