John Lennon rocks

I think part of it was that John and Paul had a way of demanding the best from each other and editing out each other’s worst tendencies. No doubt it was pretty rancorous at times, but you can’t argue with the results.

Solo Beatles is mostly disappointing, but each Beatle has produced at least one great album-- I’d nominate “John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band,” “Chaos and Creation in the Backyard,” “All Things Must Pass,” and “Ringo Rama.”

Are you saying they didn’t have religious right wing fundies back in Lennon’s day?

Of course there were, but back then they were on television at 3:00 AM on a Tuesday night - now they have an office and a bedroom suite in The White House.

If I recall correctly, the Beatles played a big concert soon after the Jesus quote. Their show sold a lot more tickets than a Billy Graham appearance the same night. Lennon was right.

Either I’m being “wooshed” here or you’re taking a literal reading of the lyrics of the guy who also wrote “I am the Walrus! Goo-Goo Goo Joob.”

I agree with the OP. Lennon rocks.
