Madden is the single person responsible for me detesting football. I use to be a huge football fan. Now I can’t stand the game.
I vote him for the dirty sock award. I really wish someone could take a sweat soaked sock after a game and shove it in that guy’s mouth.
One talk radio station I know always played ridiculous clips of him saying stuff. But they were staged, it was cleary someone doing an impersation. Anyone know what this was from? SNL? Mad TV? Someplace else?
Now, if you look at the offensive line here…you see that this guy goes and pulls and the other guy crosses over, so the running back has his choice of where he wants to run Hole “A” or Hole “B”.
So when Ricky Williams gets the ball, he takes it and stuffs it right in the A-Hole! Boom!
That Ricky Quote may be my all time favorite Madden, but then there was this gem from the NYG-Tampa game a few weeks back. MAdden pontificating on what it means to be brothers and opponents in the NFL (Tiki and Ronde Barber):
“On one hand, he is your opponent. But on the bigger hand, he is your brother. And on top of that, he is your twin brother. And on top of that, he came out of the same egg as you did. But I guess that is what makes him your twin brother.” :wally
I thought it was extremely stupid playing up the Barber brothers match-up with the idea that you wouldn’t want to hit your brother. Hell, my brother and me on opposite teams would always gun for each other. If you can’t get up for bragging rights at the Holiday dinner table, then what does get you going?!? It’s like saying that the players aren’t competitive and don’t want to win.
Of course my brother and I are no where near good enough at any sport to ever play professionally, but it’d be a ton of fun if we were!
True. You have to wonder how often Ronde throws his ring in his brother’s face when they get together. “Hey, Tiki, what does your Super Bowl ring look like? What? You don’t have one?”
