Both did well tonight. There was no clear winner. But Trump did well. His strategy of reminding people about how Clinton has been in government for a long time is a very wise one in this year of anti-establishment feelings.
He also shored up his support in the Republican party by talking about reducing taxes and regulations.
All this year, so far, I’ve been supporting him only with great reluctance. If the Democrats had picked virtually anybody else, I would have crossed the aisle. But for the first time, I actually feel good about supporting him. He looked and sounded very presidential tonight.
To hell with a mute button. The moderator should have both of them hooked up to collars that shock them if they go over the time limit. Trump would be an unconscious twitchy mess on the floor at the first question.
I am actually pretty good at separating my views from how Joe Schmoe would see things – I actually got paid dollars in a former career to do just that. From where I sit, Hillary absolutely, positively fucking owned Donald – hands down. She didn’t smile quite as much as I wanted her to, but she wasn’t really wounded too badly by anything he said. Hell, the lowlight was Donald fighting with Lester Holt, the moderator over what she said.
And yet, and yet…ABC’s post-debate horse shit spin cycle is trying to say that Donald scored early. What the actual fuck?! Donald Trump didn’t score anything early. About the only time that Donald actually might have scored is during the exchange over policing and racism in the inner city – Donald Trump probably get the better of that exchange, but even then, Hillary didn’t perform badly.
I think anyone who was seriously undecided and kinda wondering “Duh, um, like, who do I, like, vote for and stuff?” probably would have come to one of two conclusions:
vote for the woman in the red suit
vote for nobody
I seriously doubt anyone undecided tonight walked away convinced that Donald Trump is their next commander in chief.
If people really watched this debate and truly concluded that Donald ‘won’, I give up and I don’t know my country anymore.
But based on what I saw, Hillary didn’t lose and she most likely won. I think that 72-96 hours from now, we will see a slight uptick in support. Having said that, the ‘debate’ isn’t over. There are people who didn’t watch the debate. Steve Bannon and the right wing media (Fox, DailyCaller, Breitbart, et al) will be selling the spin. It’ll be interesting to watch the FB and Google feeds and trends. Only then will we know. I suspect that maybe around Friday or Saturday we will know a lot.
I wanted to check what Fox News was saying, but it was Hannity interviewing Trump, and I couldn’t face it. Hannity is basically the Republican party line in human form.
A resounding victory by The Donald … he laid every problem in the whole world at Hillary’s feet … this debate should propel him into a distinct lead in the polls … a job well done !!!
If both did well, and there was no clear winner, why has your uncomfortableness with voting Trump decreased but not your uncomfortableness with Clinton?
