Jon Peters, you'll never dress hair in this town again...

Hollywood producer Jon Peters (once the inspiration for Warren Beatty’s hairdresser character in Shampoo before he became a film mogul) has secured $700,000 in a book deal, for a tell-all memoir to be published next year. One that promises to really dish the dirt, on ex Barbara Streisand, on various former flings (Sharon Stone, Kim Basinger, Pamela Anderson, Nicollette Sheridan, Salma Hayek, and Catherine Zeta-Jones) and on various other figures in the industry (Ray Stark, Robert Redford, Ryan O’Neal).

This sounds like it will be positively incendiary. To state the obvious, many of these people are powerful players in their own right or have friends and hubbies similarly situated, to say nothing of their lawyers.

It’s one thing when a “high class” Beverly Hills call girl nearing 40 (or 30) writes a sexual tell-all; but why on earth would Jon Peters feel the need, let alone justification, for this? It’s as if his life’s ambition is to be remembered as [arguably; there’s been a lot of competition] the most notorious cad in the history of Tinseltown.

I expect his will be a very entertaining book, though.

Books like this are why they put chairs in Borders.

I’ll just check it out from the library. Not like Peters needs any more of my money, anyway.

It’s hard to see how any of his revelations can match the book written about his rise in Hollywood, “Hit and Run”. An absolute must read that makes you wonder “how could any industry be that gullible?”

Sounds like it would be a great companion piece to this book, to see the exact opposite.

In the later chapters, does a giant spider appear?

If by “giant spider” you mean Jack Nicholson, then yes.
