For those not familiar with the story, Joseph P Kennedy was the older son in the Kennedy clan in WWII. He was flying a classified mission for the RAF. This involved loading a bomber with explosives and flying it by remote control to the target and crashing. Because of the limited technology of the time it still required pilots to take off the plane and arm the explosives in flight, then parachute to safety. A few minutes after arming the explosives and before they could parachute the plane exploded over England.
Maybe 15 years ago I read a detailed report on the incident. It had photos or drawings of the various devices and circuits and drew some conclusions about what might have failed. The arming circuits were all just homemade devices with an actual pin they stuck in to arm it as I recall.
Anyone with a link to such a report?
