Josh Gordon-Ultimate knucklehead

You might want to change your opinion soon when the NFL changes the rules. Or not.

Oh, I’m sure he thinks letting Welker and the others play this week, and giving Gordon a completely arbitrary 10 games is fair and just. Rules are rules, right? Even when they’re made up on the spot with no logic to them at all. Justice.

Now he’s managed to get suspended for the meaningless last game of the season.

It’ll be interesting to see what Gordon did to screw up. I’m sure he wasn’t ecstatic about playing with a practice squad QB, but it seems that Mr. Gordon really hasn’t grown up after having 10 games to think things over.

Apparently being suspended this last game means the difference between being a restricted free agent instead of unrestricted. Could cost him a lot of money.

And now reports are that the Browns suspended him specifically for that reason. Wow.

Now he really will be suspended for a year.

No arguing with this one and the stringency of the test, no claims of second-hand smoke, nothing. He’s toast.

Knucklehead, indeed.

But…alcohol? It’s not even illegal. And it’s not during a game. Unless it was a DUI, why is this even a problem? I get that he had a DUI years ago, but does that literally mean he can never have another drink? Wtf? I dunno, this does not seem like it should even be a problem, unless there is a lot missing from the reported circumstances. The NFL substance rules are so disconnected from reality.

He didn’t just have one DUI from years ago. He pled guilty to his latest one in September of 2014, for which is is still on probation. As part of his deal with the NFL, he agreed to the testing, so he, once again, has no one to blame but himself.

I don’t think it’s unrealistic to require someone who is on probation for a DUI to refrain from drinking. Especially when they specifically agreed to it.

Wait until Gordon finds out that Chevron doesn’t offer seven figure salaries.

Jesus. It’s hard to feel sorry for people like this. Too bad his talent will go wasted now. All those years since childhood perfecting his craft but he couldn’t keep his head straight long enough to stay on stage.

Stop acting like addiction is a moral failing.

I find my sympathy for addicts to lessen as they have more and more options available to them. I completely understand that being an addict isn’t a choice, but I find myself much more sympathetic to someone who lives in a crappy neighborhood, without a family structure, little to no treatment options, and no hope for the future than someone who has been, thanks to amazing physical talents, been given multiple options, has millions of dollars, a chance at a college education, and is currently under a structured treatment plan with supervision. There are millions of addicts who would kill to be in Josh Gordon’s place and has the options and treatment that he has. Many of them may fail repeatedly also, but at least they’d be given a serious chance.

Josh Gordon isn’t an addict, he’s a moron who doesn’t believe the rules apply to him.

Are they mutually exclusive?

I find it hard to ascertain what is going on with the guy given I don’t think I have even heard him speak on this issue, but you have to wonder if this is just something he cannot control given the circumstances.

This is a really good read on Gordon’s side of the story. An Open Letter To Charles Barkley & Co. | by Flash Gordon | The Cauldron

Josh Gordon is playing the ‘poor little me’ card in an open letter.

Obviously, Gordon didn’t write a word of it. He’s borderline illiterate. But using the wrong side of the tracks excuse is pathetic. He uses alcohol and marijuana because he enjoys getting drunk and stoned. I don’t think he’s any sort of addict. I think the rules in college and the NFL are stupid. But, rules are rules. He continues to break them because he just doesn’t believe they apply to him. It’s interesting while the article gave him a pity party, the writer didn’t mention all the favors he got growing up for being a star.

You’re a real piece of work. Cite for him being illiterate? I assume you have some evidence beyond his skin color?

Today, I watched many of Gordon’s interviews that he’s given in the past with his various excuses for drugs and alcohol. Nothing to do with his race. He wasn’t spending extra time in English class during his Baylor suspension

Ah, he wasn’t well-spoken enough for your liking. Gotcha. Crystal clear.

He would have gotten sympathy if he had been accused of rape.
