Judge, court officer, deputy gunned down in Atlanta

Yeah, it was less than a half mile from my house (howdy, neighbor – long time no yap! ) We heard the helicopters (multiple) about 40 mins before , and then the sirens about 10 minutes before his capture.

The horrible thing is, last night, my wife went to take our dogs out to pee before bed. My famous last words “There’s no way he’ll be on _________ Drive (our street name)”., :smack: As it turns out, he was less than a half mile away.

Jeezopete, Mouthbreather.

(Oh, and Hi back atcha!)

I think if the cops had gone into the house, he would have been killed “resisting arrest with violence.” However, he came out frantically waving a white t-shirt over his head. Smart guy.

Very smart guy, actually. Planning, execution (so to speak), brains, willingness. There aren’t many guys like him out there, thank God.

Cops joke that they only catch the slow and stupid ones, but the fact is, it’s often true.

My husband used to be a DA, and he was one of the few that didn’t carry a gun. In CA, many judges have armored benches, go armed and wear body armor. They also have panic buttons that will summon deputies from other areas into their courtroom. During hubby’s tenure, the Mexican mafia had a blanket hit request on the deputy DAs- kill one and good things will happen for you. None were killed at that time, but a bunch of judges were killed- at least 3 in 5 years.

My husband saw two courtroom gun struggles- both swiftly concluded with no injuries (except to the perpetrator).
