Judge Sues Courthouse!

Read the latest judicial foolishness:http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2008/01/17/judge_sues_over_court_mishap/
So this idiot of a judge wants the state/count/whoever to pay for his injuries!
What about insurance? Haven’t they paid to get this bum’s knee back in shape?
Anyway, this being Massachusetts, NOBODY is sure just what entity ought to be laible.
I say, the judge should sue the company that built the courthouse, back in 1906! Or, he should sue the company that maintains the steps. Or how about himself?-as an emploiyee of the court, HE should be liable!

Are you completely incapable of even the most basic reading comprehension skills, or did you just read the headline and pole vault to a conclusion?

Yeah, what an idiot that judge is.

Seems like a reasonable lawsuit to me. The court steps were out of shape and caused someone injury.

Insurance is irrelevant.

The law in that state apparently exempts him from workers comp. and the fact he is a judge is pretty much irrelevant otherwise.

The dispute over which entity is liable is reasonable.

The nerve! You mean he wants the entity that caused his injury to pay for it? How nutty!

Which insurance company? Do you know? I know you know that the judge’s health insurer can pass the loss along to the city or state through subrogation. I know because we’ve discussed it before: http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=5720967&postcount=32

Also he’s not suing for past medial bills. And he hasn’t been completely rehabilitated, so that’s another problem with your analysis:
