Does anyone have an opinion on judicial junkets? Corporations and corporate sponsored groups offering all expense paid trips for seminars to judges.

Hey never mind the cite has changed didn’t get this one in yet. In essence the article was from a statement by Rehnquist that says he believes it fine for judges to go to these things. He sees no conflict of interest. Thinks they are good because the judiciary in his opinion is underpaid and needs the little vacation.
Anyone else have an opinion? How about you Minty, you’re a lawyer? Would you like to argue a tort case before a judge that just got back from a seminar where your defendent was one of the sponsors?
