Julian Lennon Question

Didn’t want to hijack my own “Beatles’ Kids…” thread, so here’s a question someone may be able to help answer:

On Julian’s present website there’s a mention made of a song he allegedly stole from his Dad’s vault: Julian-Lennon.com.

He later regretted this, didn’t record it and got Yoko to buy out the contract of the record company that was going to release the tune.

My question: What was the song, and have we heard it already?

Thanks

Quasi

Well, the article implies he backed out before anything was actually recorded, so we probably haven’t heard Julian’s version (unless maybe you’re a big collector of Julian’s working tapes).

Now, if we can find the name of the song, it probably wouldn’t be hard to find a version of it by his father. John recorded everything. His tape recorder was essentially his scratch pad and he left a lot of unfinished demo tapes when he died.

He was in the middle of a massive onslaught of ideas and creativity that he had all but abandoned from 1976 - 79. A lot of these tapes found their way onto posthumous albums “Menlove Ave” (essentialy outtakes from 1975’s “Rock & Roll”) & “Milk & Honey” (essentially leftover demos from 1980s “Double Fantasy”) but were best presented as a whole package on the John Lennon Anthology box set.
