The first time I saw it I was impressed. 2 teams independently solving a problem by taking different approaches. And they both completed it in the time allowed. barely.
Well after a second time I realized there were too many coincidences and close calls and they always had a problem right at the end that they barely solve in time.
Now I watch it and it seems to be just a drama with a little comedy and math/science thrown in.
Is that just me? I still enjoy it but not as much as when I thought it was “real”.
